Call for Art: Happy Places
Exhibit Dates: May 1 – 29, 2026
Application Deadline: April 3, 2026
Acceptance Notifications: April 10, 2026
The Gallery at Macon Arts Alliance is seeking submissions for its May 2026 exhibit, Happy Places. This exhibit explores the spaces—real or imagined—that bring us comfort, calm, and joy. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, this show invites artists to reflect on the places we return to when the world feels heavy: a childhood memory, a quiet room, a familiar landscape, or a moment of stillness within ourselves. Submissions may be preliminary investigative work, experimental work, or finished products. Submissions are not restricted to a specific media and may be either 2D or 3D.
Artists are encouraged to submit up to 3 pieces for review.
Accepted work must be delivered to the gallery on Friday, April 24th (10am – 5pm)
Requirements:
- 2D work should not exceed 48” x 60” and/or 25lbs. All 2D work must be wired for hanging
- 3D work must fit on a 16” x 16” pedestal
- Applications are encouraged to include a short bio and statement about the work
- Accepted work must be shipped or hand-delivered to the gallery
- If shipping the work, postage must be pre-paid, and must include a return shipping label.
- Entries must be available for sale at Macon Arts Gallery during the exhibition using a 60% / 40% artist/gallery commission formula. Work will also be listed for sale online at maconarts.org/shop.
Inquiries and submissions should be directed to Sierra Bush by emailing curator@maconarts.org.
